This is my second attempt of knitting a full body figure. The background is done in 3 yarn technique.
Usually I ask Baba about everything - which picture to knit and which yarn, needles and gauge to use with it. While Baba usually likes His sadra to be plain white cottony yarn, this time He insisted on an old, somewhat shiny yarn that I had for so many years I was not even know where I bought it (I think in Japan) + I only had 2 little balls of it, not even a full skein.
Sure enough the yarn was not enough...and there was nothing like it to be found anywhere.
That's when the game begun:
- Baba, would you like this yarn? - No.
- This one? - No...and so on.
The result is what I thought Baba wanted, and the stripes of colors are one reason why I call it 'stages on the path'.
The other reason is that some pictures have and area, not necessarily big, where I knit and knit, but it seems like for days I do not manage to progress out of it. I call these pictures 'stages on the path'. Here it was the area around Baba's knees.
(The other picture like that is Jorury Jii temple).
* Now when I look at it, years later, I realise it is accurate as it looks like Baba is wearing His white Sadra with the pink coat on top. Took me only 5 years to figure it out...
