Avatar Meher Baba, 1927
(Meher Baba sitting)
27"X14"

This picture is made with yarn from India (the figure and the cloth)
yarn from the U.S. (the garland)
and yarn from Japan (the background).
My first attempt at knitting a full body.

When I showed this picture to Meheru in Meherazad she took me to the back and called the servants to see it, saying that they never see things like that. The servants took Darshan from Baba's feet in the picture, and I - was freaking out. But, when we came back (to the U.S.) I had an exhibition scheduled in the public library. So the pictures (this one and Baba in France) went straight from Meherabad to the library wall and it felt to me like the servants were putting something into it, for the exhibit.
My lesson - do your work and MOVE OUT OF THE WAY
