Heart Window
(original kitchen, Meher center, s.c.)
24'X25' , 2009
The idea for this picture came in one of Bill Le page talks in the Original Kitchen. You know how beautiful it is to sit and look through the windows - each with slightly different but spectacular view, the kind that does the heart good. On that afternoon as I looked out, the leaves on the tree looked like they were heart shaped, even though it is not a red-bud tree. The shadows on the tree trunk seemed to have heart shapes too.
As for the talk itself, 2 things stayed with me strongly:
One is that the center is a place of Pilgrimage. Living 5 minutes away, I sometimes forget it.
The second is that when we look back it may seem like there was no change or improvement (within us). The change is there, but the progress is done in minute increments and so is hard to see.
