Invisible Meher Baba, Large
19.5" X 20"
Mounted on foam board
Sold

This knitting is done with one yarn, using purl st on knit rows, as a contour line in a drawing, to show Baba's face. The border is crocheted, with variegated yarn.
For years this picture used to cause me pain, as I was afraid it might mean Baba is becoming less visible to me. One day I realised it's not that Beloved Baba is invisible, he is just more subtle...
Soon after that a friend (who met Baba) came to visit. He stood in front of this picture, looking and looking. I said that this was my invisible Baba.
-"No, No" He said "Baba is just subtle"

This picture is knitted sideways, using the same technique as the picture on the left.
The chart for this picture is in the book 'Color & Picture Knitting'
and in 'Knitting with Baba',
both available her and at Amazon.
Above, Five Faces of God.
A series of 'invisible Baba' pictures, all using the same technique as above. The secret to knitting these pictures is to omit details as much as possible. Too many details make the knitted picture 'murky'.
All pictures are mounted on foam board.
The first and last pictures are sold,
the other three are $49.00 each
(see the SALE page for more details).

Left - Baba in brown and 2 blues. Knitted with the same chart as the invisible Baba on top. The pretend border was knitted as part of the picture. A simple garter border was added after the picture was done.
