Dear
This program was done by my husband and is made available to you with much love. We hope it will help you to knit images and dreams you love. This program can be used in many different ways. In all of them, before you print check to see that the graph is not too crowded (75 sts per row and around 100-120 rows per chart is my comfort zone).
Symmetric graph paper: Put the same # in st and in rows. Adjust the sts per row & print.
Asymmetric graph paper - put different values in. sts=colomns, rows=horizontal lines.
Portrait format - enter your gauge # in the right box. There is no 'inch' # for the gauge as what matters is only the ratio of sts to rows Do not forget to adjust sts per row.
Landscape format - enter the gauge numbers in the opposite order - put the sts in the row box, and the rows where the sts should go. This will give you a sideways chart.
You do not need to change the print format in the printer.
Picture knitting - before you make the chart consider your picture and the lines in it. If you have a lot of vertical lines, like many trees, it will be easier for you to knit this picture sideways. That means, if the photo in your hands is a portrait format, you may want to knit it in landscape format. Portraits sometimes appear better when knitted sideways too. So take a minute to evaluate all this and the direction of the sts themselves.
Print your grid, put the same paper back in the printer-paper and print your picture over it. You might need to put the paper upside down for the picture to print on the right side.
