When the picture has a majority of vertical lines I find it easier technically to knit it sideways. This picture was knitted from the left and I used a lot of variegated yarns of similar shades.

The original photo of this tree and sun picking through it's branches, thrills me so much that the minute I finish knitting one picture, I already want to start another version of it!
This one is knitted from down up (normal). I tried to concentrate on the feeling in the picture, and not on the shapes.
